Happy Hump Day!! I am officially 1 day away from my trip to Playa del Carmen for one of my bestie’s bachelorette party weekend. I haven’t been to the beach in Mexico since two years ago for my baby sister’s big 1-8. The beach is my favorite place to be and I am excited to finally be back.

I wanted to do a pre-trip post to tell you all about where I am going, how I prepare for my trips, and my packing essentials.

We are staying at the most amazing looking AirBnB from Friday to Sunday. I have never stayed at an AirBnB in Mexico, but I am super excited about it. It’s a condo right on the beach front and the complex has a pool. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 4 beds; perfect for a bachelorette weekend!

My favorite part of staying in an AirBnB is probably how cheap the stay is, but also the easiness of being in a prime location while still feeling like you are at home.

The condo is right by the beach so I plan to take full advantage of that. Running and laying on the beach are my favorite things to do when I am in a beach town.

The weather is not looking too good for my first day there, but I am prepared for any kind of weather Mother Nature has for us!

My packing list for my Playa trip will include:

  • Passport
  • One-piece and Bikini
  • Cover-Ups
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Camera
  • Go-Pro
  • Backpack
  • External Battery Packs
  • Shorts
  • Lightweight Shirts and Tank Tops
  • One Pair of Jeans
  • Dresses
  • Sandals, Flats, and Sneakers
  • Heels
  • Sweater
  • Rain Poncho
  • Travel Umbrella
  • Water Shoes
  • Necessities (toiletries, etc.)

The weather is supposed to be rainy on Friday then partly cloudy the rest of the time we are there. I want to be prepared for anything.

Going through Pinterest I found a few outfits that I would like to mimic on my trip.

Packing is going to be an adventure. I have to pack tonight since I will be leaving tomorrow morning SUPER early. Thankfully, I am spending today at a conference that happens to be close to an outlet mall. I plan on stopping by for anything else I might need (or want lol).

Follow along with my Playa del Carmen adventures on Snapchat and Instagram! I will also be going LIVE tonight at 10 PM CT on Instagram to go through my packing essentials for my beach trip.

Happy Thursday! I am SUPER excited to do my post on San Diego! It’s almost been two weeks since I was there and I am already missing the COOL summer air. Texas summers can get old reeeeal quick! Haha

When the bride invited me to San Diego for her bachelorette, I was a little nervous. Girls’ Trips, in general, make me nervous after a bad experience I had. I was excited to go back to San Diego, though, since the last time I was there it was for a family trip.

Although I won’t be hitting up San Diego for my bachelorette, it’s the PERFECT place for a bachelorette. There is SO MUCH to do! The weather is PERFECT! And the food is AMAZING! Continue reading

When I found out I was staying at the Magnolia Hotel in Houston during my stay while visiting the Bud Light Brewery, I started Googling right away. I read that it was a boutique hotel and I thought, “Oh, that’s cool.” I had never stayed in a boutique hotel, but I had heard of them before. I honestly wasn’t expecting much, but upon arrival that all changed.

When I arrived at the Magnolia Hotel Houston, the first thing I noticed is the historic building in which it is housed. Built in 1926, the structure has remained a significant part of the city’s history, previously serving as a corporate office for the Houston Post Dispatch Newspaper and Shell Oil Company. In 2003, after extensive renovations, it reopened as the Magnolia Hotel. The integrity of the building’s unique exterior was kept intact, while modern, luxurious touches were added inside. Well for a taaaaaad bit at least. Studying has taken over my life so after my next blog post I will be taking a hiatus until after October 28. Wish me luck on my PE licensing exam y’all!

So last week we had the most AMAZING opportunity to visit the great Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. My cousin got married there so we decided to make a mini-vacay out of it.

I fell in love with the food, the colors, and the people of Guadalajara and I can’t wait to go back.

The wedding was BEAUTIFUL and was at this super cute hacienda on the outskirts of Guadalajara.

As you might have guessed, I am very proud of my Mexican heritage and background.

I love Mexico with all my heart and, despite all the troubles the country is going through right now, I will always see it as one of the most beautiful places in the world. Continue reading

I was around 8 when I was first introduced to Las Vegas. My parents had been visiting for years, but it wasn’t until I watched a special about Las Vegas on The Travel Channel that I began to notice.

I was also really into the Rugrats and in 1997 Nickelodeon came out with “A Rugrats Vacation” where Tommy, Chucky, Phil, Lil, and Angelica go on a Vegas adventure. Their adventure along with their rendition of “Vacation” was enough to hook me to the idea of Vegas at the age of 8.

Las Vegas always seemed magical to me even before I truly knew the magic of it. Las Vegas is a place that suggests that the rest of the world is the desert and IT is the oasis. There is no other place that captures the full spirit of America than Las Vegas for me. Continue reading
