Food

Food, foodie, foodies, nom.

Kona Grill never disappoints! For a sushi chain restaurant it is great every time! I love the wait staff who are always nice and eager to serve. Our waiter was Alex and he was AMAZING. The environment is always hip and lively.
This past summer I was really excited to take my sister to experience the amazingness that is Hay Elotes!! I ordered a Chamoyada and she ordered a Mangonada, a specialty drink made of blended mango and liquid chamoy.. We both ordered their signature corn in cup with lime and chile. I think it's safe to say that we will be going together a lot once she moves to Austin starting in the fall.

Tai Pei provides a delicious meal when busy and on a budget. All entrees are made with real, pure ingredients, and no preservatives or artificial ingredients. None of the bad stuff, just pure and delicious goodness. One of the best parts of the single serve entrees is that you don't need extra plates to heat anything up in. Product packaging makes it quick and simple to prepare in just minutes in the microwave.
Moxy Austin-University makes play easy and work fun with the heart of a boutique hotel and an attitude that doesn’t always follow the rules. There’s a drink waiting for you with your room key and someone at the bar that might be your new BFF.
The taste of a frozen lemon pospsicle brings back memories of spending the night with all my cousins at my grandma's house. My grandma had a thing for bolis and paletas. For some reason she was always fully stocked when we arrived. She didn't offer actual food to us when we walked through her door. Instead she offered us sweet frozen goodness. That is one of the biggest memories my whole family has of her.
Yay! In honor of our return to Taco Tuesdays at Casa Gonzalez, I am finally sharing my award-winning salsa recipe! I have won the Salsa competition at work three years in a row now and I have to say, my salsa is pretty damn good. Haha. Feel...

I am extremely picky when it comes to Mexican food. When I first heard of Joe's from a friend, I am not gonna lie, I was thinking, "You are full of s***!" The thing is that ever since I came to Austin I hadn't found a place that truly, really, sincerely reminded me of the food from back home. There are AMAZING places in and around town, but most of them have one or two things on the menu that I actually love.
